Why Flooding Causes Destruction By Eva

 Why Flooding Causes Destruction

Flooding is usually caused by intensely heavy rains and sometimes even blocked water sources like drains, or connels. You've probably seen a flood before but have you ever thought about how much destruction it could cause.

Flooding can be an everyday thinking judging on the weather and the conditions. Most flooding happens when it's a high tide and the past week has been mostly heavy rains. It's just the same as drains, but sometimes the drain could get blocked with washed-up things like driftwood, leaves, and other stuff. Which causes problems with the road. But luckily every year the drains get dug out by the people in the roadworks business.

You're most likely to find a flood in a flat area beside a river. Many flat farms have problems with flooding because the stock banks aren't high enough to stop the water coming over. And depending on the water type, the grass will die. Especially if it's saltwater because the grass will slowly turn brown. And won't be any use to farmers and cattle.

Flooding can also be insanely dangerous. You've probably seen on TV, images of houses completely filled up with water. And neighborhoods being destroyed. That's all because of a flood! People can lose homes and lives because of flooding. And they can also cause landslides if the weather is bad. Because when it floods the water could cause creases in the ground. Then because of how wet and soggy the dirt is, the land above it will slide down. Because there's nothing to hold it in place.

In conclusion, flooding is naturally dangerous and can happen at all times. So make sure your stock banks are high enough that water doesn't come over and just rethink before you go building a house right near a river.
