The Coming Storm (part two coming soon)

The Coming Storm
It was a fine summer day when Aliza and her friend Ellie were in the cornfields helping Ellie's grandmother harvest some of the corn for tonight's special family meet up. It had been sunny all day and only the slightest gust of wind came upon Ellie's face. The corn was golden and juicy just ready to be harvested.

But just as the evening had come after they had set up the dinner, Aliza and Ellie went outside to the fish pond, to feed the fish and clean their water. That's when as they stepped out of the door it suddenly got cold, of course, they didn't think anything about it, it was just a sudden change of weather. So they continued to approach the fish pond. But the clouds got darker and darker as they set up and prepared for dinner. That's when it started to rain. Even the wind had come out of nowhere.

Ellie was disappointed that they wouldn't be able to play outside because of the weather. She was really looking forward to hanging out with her cousins and her best friend. Aliza helped in the kitchen with the food and Ellie set up the dinner table with her grandmother's best and finest plates and cups. With the finishing touch of some flowers form their very own garden. It all looked wonderful. And had been done just in time.

The rest of Ellie's family had arrived; all six of them squished into one car, tumbling out the doors. Ellie had always had quite a big family with lots of aunts and uncles, plus many cousins.
Aliza didn't seem to mind having Ellie's family over since they were all pretty close. Plus Aliza had met them all before.

They all gathered up inside and took a seat in the lounge. The kids including Ellie and Aliza went upstairs into the mini lounge they had upstairs. It was by far way cooler than the downstairs lounge. It had a big tv and loads of games. And the couch was covered in sheepskins which were warm and fluffy.

It was nearly time for dinner as Aliza went downstairs to gather some movies for them to watch after dinner. The movies were placed on a window sill in the spare room. EllieÅ› grandmother had closed all the curtains because it was night time. So Aliza opened the curtain to gather up the movies. But when she looked out the window at the cornfeildÅ›, she knew that this was no ordinary storm…

~Working On The Farm~
Tuesday the 12th of April?
I woke up to a cold and windy morning. The sun was barely up and dad was
in the kitchen making breakfast. That night I had slept in the lounge with my
sister (just because we wanted too). I got up and got dressed. Then I went to
have breakfast. Dad was sitting at the table eating breakfast while on
Facebook. Probably waiting for us to get up. Then once my sister had had
her breakfast we went on the tractor with dad on the farm.

We were a couple of paddocks away from the paddock we were going to
when dad looked over at one of the areas we were going to clean up. But
then he saw four medium size black and ginger wild pigs in the paddock. It
was very exciting to see but they started to run away when they heard the
noise of the tractor. We had our dogs with us but they were only working
dogs not pig hunting ones. But our smallest dog had caught a baby pig
before and he has a lot of guts. He even ran at one of our craziest bulls
before which was like five times bigger than him.

So I ran over with the dogs into the paddock following the baby pigs. I called
for the dogs to go in the bush because the baby pigs had just made it into a
small area of trees and bushes. But I couldn't see anything. I was waiting for
at least a few minutes until I heard a loud pig squealing, so I looked around
and there it was. Cornered between some trees with one of the dogs barking
at it and making sure it did not runoff.

Dad and my sister had come over on the tractor by then and dad was making
his way slowly up into the bush. I and the dog managed to keep it from running. Then dad came and picked it up by its leg. I sort of felt sorry for the baby pig because it looked so traumatized. Dad was examining the baby pig and found out that it was covered in lice but most pigs usually are.

That's when I realized my dog had not come back yet… I started to get really worried. So I started to call her name but there was no response. Usually, she would come running back and bark once or twice but I couldn't hear anything. Until I heard a noise in a nearby bush. Dad thought it was the Mother of the baby pigs but then I saw it had fur. So I was filled with relief.

After that, we all decided that we would let it go because it was too small to turn into bacon and plus it was covered in lice. It had gotten very hot throughout that time so we went back home and relaxed.
